Relax and enjoy being pampered! We had a 2-Day Spa-cation at the Greek-themed Safety Harbor Resort & Spa. A great get-away for men & women. The morning was filled with Herbal Wraps, Facials, Massages, spa manicuresand Mineral Springs baths! Then we just melted away the afternoon by the pool with the mild breeze from Tampa Bay. If you feel energetic, the park is just a few steps away with walking paths. Finish the day with a great meal in the hotel’s restaurant. Try the seabass – wonderful!
Remember diners and homemade burgers? Well, if you want a real homemade burger and a thick, creamy milkshake stop in at the Shake Station in Ellenton, FL! You need two hands to hold these juicy sandwiches and a spoon for the best, thickest, shake! Not to mention, the crispy onion rings and fries. Even on a diet you need to splurge once in a while. Lol
While at the beach at Pass-A-Grille on St Pete’s Beach, we ate lunch at The BrassMonkey. Since I am originally from Md., the “Monkeycrab balls” looked interesting. I was NOT disappointed. They were delicious and reminded me of the best part of living in Md…blue crabs!!
The owners are from Maryland, so they know how to make a Maryland crab cake!!
Head over to St Pete’s Beach for a fun day in the sun and enjoy a great meal on the balcony at The Brass Monkey!
John’s Pass in Madeira Beach Florida has it all! Shopping, Jetski’s, Pirate ship, parasailing, great seafood restaurants and outside bars. Everything you need for a fantastic vacation or just a day get-away. Click the link above for pictures and more details.
Saturday was a nice warm sunny day for the Anna Marie Island Privateers and just a “few” fun friends riding the Skullywag for a pubcrawl. Pubs included Tommy Knockers on Anna Marie Island, Peggy’s Corral and Jaxx Playbook. What’s not to like living in Florida!
With our last name being MCLAUGHLIN we like to search out true IRISH pubs and we definitely found the real deal at O’Brien’s – Irish Pub & Grill in Brandon, Fl. The food was good, the service excellent and it’s an all around neighborhood pub where you can meet new friends or enjoy a ‘pint’ with old ones! This is a Veteran owned establishment serving veterans and veteran organizations around the Tampa Bay area.
So, stop in and say HELLO and have some ‘fish and chips’ while you are out Christmas shopping and support local restaurants with such great community ties! They have already started their count down until St. Patrick’s Day!!! – it’s 89 days from today 12/17/18!
Sun City Center got its start as a “Del Webb” community, meaning it is a 55+ community including anything you might want or need, only 25 miles south of Tampa. Not only do we have affordable homes, we also have retail shopping, restaurants, gas stations, lakes, golf, dog park, banks, grocery stores, churches – pretty much anything you would want and its all accessible by golf carts! How fun is that! This is a very active lifestyle with generally 300 days of sunshine!

It doesn’t get much better than this! A clear, warm night in Apollo Beach, Fl., watching the Christmas-decorated boats show off their creativity. Crowds gathered to join in the fun. If you plan to go next year, I would definitely suggest going early as we did. We sat on the outside terrace and enjoyed the view, food and a few cocktails with friends.
